for 1915, 29in. nitro reproved chopperlump barrels, ribs engraved 'BOSS & CO. 13, DOVER STREET, PICCADILLY, LONDON. W.' (No.1 worn illegible) and gold-inlaid '1' and '2', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and 1/4 choke, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, Boss 1905 improved patent single triggers and rolled-edge triggerguards, the triggerplates marked 'BOSS'S PATENT NO. 11278', fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, retaining slight traces of original colour-hardening and finish, 14 3/4in. figured replacement stocks, weight 6lb. 9oz. (both), in their makers brass-cornered oak and leather double guncase
